The Chinese had their government covering their costs and didn’t need to make a profit. Not finding made in America products in-store was an effect that was downstream of where the problem was.

Right, so it wasn't "customers clamoring for Chenesium *over* American. It was dumping by the Chinese to drive competition out.

Yes. Customers picking product based on price alone without regard to the manufaturing lables. Market share plummeted for many American companies.
