Exactly. This is their living. They are paid between 1 and 2 k for each resident. both with federal and state dollars, the local school system provides day care up to 23 years of age in some states. The residents receive Snap and Healthcare.
I have worked with such families. A good way for certain couples who can manage the work, to make a living.
There is, of course, the possibility that the Pinkertons are using these young men for free labor on their farm. But I don’t know that, it just kind of popped into my head. Sometimes these feel-good stories turn out to be a bit darker than expected.
