Rosie O'Donnell has claimed her autistic child is lashing out at Donald Trump for supposedly forcing them to leave the US.
The diehard liberal actress and comedian has been living in Ireland in 'self-imposed exile' after Trump's landslide electoral victory over former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.
'My daughter is now saying, "Damn him. Damn Trump" and smashing her hand on the table,' O'Donnell said on Friday's edition of the Jim Acosta Show.
As she motioned a fist furiously slamming down, O'Donnell added: 'And she said, !He made us move in order for our own safety. And it's now, he's destroying the country".'
The 63-year-old former host of The Rosie O'Donnell Show said that she did not 'want to give' her defiance of Trump to her child.
'Somebody can tap me out, you know?' O'Donnell said. 'I did 22 years. I don't really need to do [it] anymore, and I don't want my kid to be so affected by it.'
When she noted that her youngest child had autism, Acosta responded: 'But she recognizes what's going on'.
O'Donnell left the US in January, days before Trump's inauguration, to relocate to Europe with her youngest child Clay, who is non-binary.
She has four more adult children - sons Parker, 29, and Blake, 25, as well as daughters Chelsea, 27, and Vivienne, 22.
Social media derided O'Donnell's comments and decision to leave the US.
One user on X said: 'Rosie can't even take responsibility for her own decision to move to Ireland. Her therapist deserves hazard pay.'
Another user called 'bs' on O'Donnell's remarks and wrote: 'She needs to take responsibility for her parental decisions. She has free will and she used it to uproot her family in a fit of pique.'

Ive taught my kids to battle through adversity, never run. It will build character and teach life lessons. Whatever doesnt kill them males them stronger. Blaming all of your problems on others and fleeing the scene is a democrat thing.

Trump ‘forced’ them to move to Ireland…..How? Did he have the Feds load them on a plane under threat f guns and fly them to Ireland? No, your adoptive momma made that choice all on her own and is unhappy that no one likes her because she is an arrogant bitch. Poor, poor Rosie O’Donnell! Let’s cry for her, okay? While she & her daughter sobs and blubbers on about how unfair that she was FORCED to flee the US, where was the anger when so many of the rest of us were suffering under the Obama & Biden years? How many of us had the $$ to even attempt to move out of the country? We were enslaved by merciless dictators who laughed at us as the “flyovers/despicables/and garbage”. No one forced her to move...we all laughed at her stupidity. But that is wasted on the mentally ill, as we all know. Wasn’t she happy to be able to move? She’s unhappy that her move has not resulted in her being vindicated.
