Exciting game. Classic rivalry. I have the fortunate, or unfortunate, condition of rooting for both. Born in Michigan with a Dad from Ohio. My Dad born in Michigan and a MBA from there, and I was born in Ohio. Fortunately I am not into team sports. But whenever they played I rooted for the Buckeyes and drove my father mad... LOL

“The Game” is bigger than the Iron Bowl, since Auburn has not been relevant historically, unlike Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State. I gotta admit you're right. It's been a while since my state had 4 national championships in a row with the winner of the Iron Bowl going on to win the natty. (2009-2012)

If you’re an Alabama fan, your team has played more important games against LSU than Auburn. If you’re an Auburn fan, your team catches lightning in a bottle every so often, but tends towards the mean in the SEC.

Since 2017, for Bama it's been more about going through Georgia.
2017 - Beat Georgia in the natty.
2018 - Beat Georgia in the SEC championship game.
2021 - Beat Georgia in the SEC championship game, then lost to Georgia in the natty.
2023 - Beat Georgia in the SEC championship game.

And this year, should Alabama win, they will have to go through Georgia again to get to the playoffs.

I'm just hoping the predicted snow storm hits before the end of the game. Fall and winter football is useless without snow.......
And I abhor indoor stadiums
Even tho I live in Michigan, Green Bay is my favorite team over the sleepy lions.
