Although, I will not give particulars to protect myself, God performed a miracle for me last night.
I was traveling from my work camp to a gas compression station, which compresses LNG to allow it to flow through the pipes easier.
The road I was traveling on was good, except for after the T-intersection, then it turned very ice with hard packed ice with grooves in the road that could catch your tire. I slowed down to about 50km/hr, trying to be safe. However, the road still caught my tire and I spun out of control.
I had no control over the truck and was spinning out of control, while heading towards the ditch and no ability to stop and there was nothing to stop the truck from going into the ditch.
However, the truck stopped dead at the edge of the road with no discernible reason why it should have stopped.
I should mention that I was listening to a podcast while traveling and, just before the incident, my phone kept turning on my online radio, where they are playing Christmas tunes 24/7 and I couldn't shut it off no matter what I did, which forced me to turn off my cell phone completely, which I can see being deliberate to cause me to pay more attention to the upcoming hazard.
I am just extremely thankful right now.

YES! So many I can’t list them all!
1953. I almost tangled with a rattlesnake.
1956 missed walking into a natural gas explosion by half a second. The fireball rolled over me and my brother with no damage to us two kids.
1956 missed being hit in the eye by a home made arrow. it hit 1/2 inch below my left eye.
1971 met and married the best woman in the world! Lost her in 2000.
1977 almost missed the best paying job I ever had by half an hour! Worked there 31 years till retirement.
1985 missed being hit head on in the night by someone playing with their new car radio. Got side swiped due to a rapid turn to the right to avoid the head on. No seat belt. Now I always buckle up.
Got a head injury by a jack handle which showed I had a bad heart and instead got open heart surgery. Mitral valve replacement.
Several bad cases of pneumonia.
clogged artery in 2006.
And many, many more. You can’t survive that many “almost killed” and not know God has a reason for me being alive.
As a result I have gone to church every Sunday since 1975 and give Thanks to God. love it!
Lost her in 2000. Woops. Lost her in 2020, not 2000.
God has been better to me than I deserve. Survived first heart attack in 2011; died on the basketball court and revived Thanksgiving weekend of 2018; recovered from a stroke New Year’s Eve 2019. Thanks given every morning for a new day, every evening for living it.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ...
My entire youthful years occurred within the framework of Western New York State, in the hills and hamlets and farms and woods there, a cosmos that dated from the times and mindset of pioneers leading to the separation of government from that of Britain, but not from the beautiful creative language and Biblical religion they and other European cultures brought here.
I feel a special bond toward any FR participants who hail from that region and have shared the same terrestial experiences that had not yet been tainted by the drug culture or socialism politics.
There are still pioneers of that kind keeping the frontiers of creative independence and liberty of thought open with the Free Republic paradigm.
Thank you for that lovely post.
But this is how we cease being strangers and begin getting to know one another!
Happiest of Thanksgivings to you.
Dan
That does sound like a miracle.
My wife & I had an incident back several years ago. We had stopped at a light controlled intersection, got the green light & started out. There was a car beside me who suddenly stopped & that caught my attention barely in time as a heavy truck ran the red light & we barely missed getting run over. It was dry pavement & I hit the brakes hard enough that the anti-lock engaged.
I wish I did but I’ve no one here to dial to come help them.
That’s why I’m desperately hoping I get better soon.
Absolutely.
I’m glad you both did and I agree that getting around is a challenge.
“ Walking pneumonia “ seems like a sarcastic thing to call it as I don’t feel like moving at all.
“But this is how we cease being strangers and begin getting to know one another!
Happiest of Thanksgivings to you.
Dan”
Thank you, Dan! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
There’s an interesting book about miracles Called The Miracle Chase.

One of the authors escaped from Ted Bundy the serial killer. Miracles are all around us.
