I got to wondering how many sports teams are named after crocodiles. Not many, it turns out:

Snakes overall do poorly too, with the exception of the Arizona Diamondbacks: A good name, IMO, as rattlesnakes avoid the association with “sneaky”, and baseball is, after all, played largely on a “diamond”. It does open up possibilities for a few interesting insults, though...

Nope. They are native. However, they are limited primarily to the extreme southern end of Florida.

I have visited pretty much the entire state, but, I would not move there for reasons you
describe.

Although I do like the panhandle. Good fishing for Red Snapper.

Still won't move there.

I can’t decide whether crocs and gators are all face—or barely have faces at all...

Turkey point nuclear power plant has a full biologist to keep an eye on the crocodiles on the property.
They has spread as far north as key Biscayne and over to ft, Myers. They are plentiful in everglades national park and the ten thousand islands.

Gators are probably in the millions and Crocs probably number in the tens thousands. They probably have 1500 at turkey point alone.

this is what I got when I ai’d it
“here are an estimated over 2,000 American crocodiles in the total South Florida population, a significant portion of which lives within and around the Turkey Point nuclear power station’s cooling canal system. The plant’s canals are home to one of the most concentrated nesting areas in the U.S..
