They’re all over the suburbs here in S.E. Michigan now....
To: Jeff Vader
That’s where I see them. Madera Canyon, too.

Yup. I had duty at Henry ford Macomb and can remember them in the tiny wooded area adjacent to the hospital. They also like to use the drainage tunnels on Hall road to get across the street.

Careless proofreading if nothing else. A very good piece of advice I got long ago was to read something aloud, not just read it, before turning it in.

Lots here in west Michigan, with over 10 acres of heavy woods, mostly oak, lots of acorns, their favorite food. And many coyote hunters so they don’t have too many predators.

” Iβve never seen a turkey cross or block a road.”
Our neighborhood had a flock of over 200. They could jam the road heavily.

One day I watched the local PD try to herd a flock back into the woods. They were blocking traffic on a four lane road.
I opened my window and volunteered to solve the problem if theyβd just wait till i went home and got my shotgun.
They declined my offer.

Yup. I had duty at Henry ford Macomb I've seen them in the parking lot next door to the Fraser senior center on 15 mile and at Halmich park.
Also saw a couple in the yard of a house along Mound rd., just north of 14 mile.
A few weeks ago there even was a dead doe on the east side of Mound rd., just north of 15 mile.

South of Tucson, in the Santa Rita mountains.
To: Jeff Vader
It's a sky island south of Tucson and Green Valley. Lots of wildlife viewing; I've seen deer, coyotes, black bear, coatimundi, etc. Santa Rita Lodge up there is a prime birdwatching spot and a nice place to stay.

“I grew up in Florida and in my first 30 years I never saw a single wild turkey. “
I grew up,in Florida. We always had wild turkey for Thanksgiving.
When I was in high school, my father tasked me with taking one to the admiral at PNAS. My best friend went with me.
At the guard gate we were asked the purpose of the visit.
I replied “To give the admiral the bird.”
