It’s also useless if it doesn’t show how many of those people are illegals.

Almost 7 to 1...for NY state as a whole not just NYC

“The latest census data showed that 121,000 New Yorkers left the Empire State in 2024”

700+K in vs 121K out.

NYC is always popular with younger college aged and young professionals it is THE City for a reason. Having lived in NYC in the 90s and again in the 2018/19 it’s always growing regardless of what people blab about there is always a shortage of housing and people just keep coming. LA same same it’s a trendy city for young professionals. The Texas four are attracting middle age professionals Tesla driving tech types, H1Bs, and management/marketing types with Houston being the energy industry capital and Austin being the techie. Dallas is finance, management and Corp headquarters. S.A. Is surprising but it’s cheap to live there and they’ve trying to steal Austin techies too.

Yes, yes, cpdiii. And Boston is one place where there are 250,000 college students, so I’ll bet Boston’s numbers are heavily weighted in that direction.

If the context of the map is to show real estate or employment trends it will just focus on new residents.

Just because it doesn’t address the context others want, doesn’t make it useless.

And their economic impact on the states. Productive people that support the tax base find it easy to re-locate and take their salaries and assets with them. Just saying.
