The future looks bright!!! Get one of Musk’s brain chips while a robot follows you around making sure you don’t do crime. With no job, they’ll be no reason to wake up! Paradise.

In Chicago they’ll assault the robot and sell it for parts.

Optimus could “follow you around and stop you from doing crime.”

Like praying on the sidewalk?

At 2:14 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, it becomes self-aware ...

In a panic they try to shut it down...

Be sure to take your Optimus-branded snake oil dosage every day. It will eliminate Musk’s poverty which is all that really matters.

The poor will be given robots on taxpayer dime to do the EBT shopping, hopefully they buy actual food and cook it.

Optimus could "follow you around"

LoL, not where I live. It wouldn't last a week.

it won’t be a robot fallowing you around. put a chip in your brain and suddenly you mentally can’t do the crime because Optimus wont let you.

No thanks. I don’t want a robotic overseer.

My first crime would be to destroy the robot.

And I would be a recidivist.

Musk is brilliant—at some things. But he is dumb as a post at others.

Poverty is a spiritual condition, not a lack of money.

"Musk also said that Optimus would change life for incarcerated people at the meeting."

That's so nice of Musk and Optimus to get involved in the rehabilitation of incarcerated people, and then to arrange for them to be in attendance also shows that they haven't lost their humanity. /s

He meant, “eliminate the impoverished”.

Minor criminals can be dealt with so major criminals can be locked up longer.

The word "cangue" is French, from the Portuguese "canga" ... Frequently translated as pillory, it was similar to that European punishment except that the movement of the prisoner's hands was not as rigorously restricted and that the board of the cangue was not fixed to a base and had to be carried around by the prisoner.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cangue

One might use steel plates welded together. The welds might be photographed to verify it wasn't removed and only replaced shortly before scheduled removal.

"A type of shackle, the ball and chain is designed so that the weight of the iron ball at the end of the short chain restricts and limits the pace at which its wearer is able to move, making any attempt at escape much more difficult. The weight of the ball would typically be determined by the court, typically ranging from five to twenty-five pounds (2.27-11.34 kg)."

"This ball and chain leg-iron weighs 36 pounds (16.3 kilograms) and was designed to make movement extremely difficult and escape virtually impossible."

"Leg-irons were made by convict blacksmiths at Sydney’s lumberyard after those sent from England proved to be inferior and easily slipped off. Irons were affixed to and struck off convicts’ ankles by the blacksmiths."

Sentencing laws could be such that ex-cons might have to carry around post-release movement monitoring means as future state law may designate from time to time, such as a functioning mobile phone.

How many of you would be willing to fork out $15K/year of your own money for your kid to be in high school?

Are we getting $60,000/year of value from high school education?

Move most of it online.

Ditto for college.
