I’m a Georgia native. What the hell is this “racial progress” crap? In my circle, nobody gave a darn what color someone was, we were all just friends. Still are.

…last thing libs want is for whites and blacks to get along. I worked in Brunswick Ga in the 80’s. Rented a townhouse on St Simons. Never have I met nicer, welcoming people. My car broke down in a neighborhood in Brunswick near the paper mill. As I walked thru to the main road I had people offering to repair it. Broken clutch cable. This one guy was fixing it while his wife served me a fried chicken dinner! Black family. Never asked for a nickel and wished me well!
I grew up in Atlanta n the 1960s, at a time when incredibly racist democrat Lester Maddox was governor. My whites only second grade class toured the state capitol and went into the governor’s office. I recall that a rope was pulled across the door and a group of black school children took turn peering in and listening to our tour guide. My teacher later explained to us that the governor did not allow blacks in his office during tours. The only blacks allowed were the cleaning staff who came in during the evening.
