Epstein files move closer to seeing light of day
The Hill ^ | 11/19/25 6:51 AM ET | by Jared Gans

President Trump has said he will sign the legislation after reversing his position on whether the documents should be released. But some critics and legal experts question whether that will be the end of the matter.

The House passed the bill by a vote of 427-1, with GOP Rep. Clay Higgins (La.) the only dissenter. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) backed the bill despite his opposition to the discharge petition that forced the vote.

The Senate later passed it by unanimous consent, sending it to Trump for a signature. A White House official reiterated to The Hill earlier Tuesday that the bill would be signed “whenever it gets to the White House.”

A group of Epstein survivors gathered with lawmakers leading the push for the files’ release for a press conference at the Capitol ahead of the vote.

Some of the women specifically went after Trump, who spent months calling the effort a “hoax” until flipping to be in favor of the release Sunday.

I know it's the Hill but...

Trump spent 4 months opposing this and some of you here did the same calling me and handful of others trolls who are Democrats along with the lead sponsor of the bill Rep. Thomas Massie

Some of you owe an apology to Massie, for sure!

I think that Trump was setting the stage to demolish some Democrats. Now that he has been drug kicking and screaming to this they can’t say he was playing politics

The true trolls are those who throw that term around lightly and have been dead wrong on this and other issues before.

They never learn . It’s sad.

Could not figure out why the Dems want these released. Every document and piece of testimony clear Trump. As a matter of fact, it exposes the Dems and their allies.

Then it hit me. Releasing these files would expose the victims. And that is what the Dems want. They want to know the who so they can pressure the victims, or bribe them, to name Trump. After all, a released e-mail shows a reporter pressuring Epstein to do it.

Once they have their victim, Gloria Steinham can show up and the usual will ensue.

You are a troll.

The victims could have named names anytime they wanted but never did so. Begs the question of why?

FR Report: House Democrat Hakeem Jeffries Solicited
Democrat Donations from Jeffrey Epstein, Asked Him to Meet with Democrat Obama

abcnews.com excerpt By Soo Rin Kim July 12, 2019, 12:49 PM

Jeffrey Epstein donated to several Democrats throughout 1990s and early 2000s
The decades-old donations raise questions about handling matters years later.

Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier charged with sex trafficking, has been a prolific donor to various Democratic campaigns and party committees over the past couple decades, including contributions to some who are now calling for the resignation of a Trump cabinet member who cut a deal for Epstein in a similar case more than a decade earlier.

One of the biggest beneficiaries of Epstein’s contributions was then-Senate hopeful Hillary Clinton, who received $20,000 from him in 1999 through her joint fundraising committee with the Democratic Party, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign also received $1,000 from Epstein in 1992. The Clintons were among Epstein’s vast network of high-profile rich and famous people who helped the former Wall Street insider turned private wealth manager rise to prominence in the early 2000’s. John Kerry, Hillary Clinton’s successor as former President Barack Obama’s secretary of state, also was a recipient of Epstein’s donations during his time as a U.S. senator in Massachusetts in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Bill Clinton, through his press secretary, released a statement when Epstein’s indictment was unsealed on Monday, saying the former president “knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has recently [been] charged in New York.”

ABC News has reached out to representatives for Bill Clinton specifically about the donation, but they did not immediately respond.

Could not figure out why the Dems want these released.

Either they gambled that Trump wouldn't call their bluff or they are relying on the Fake News Media ignoring any information that implicates demonicRATS.

So many people on here are going to be disappointed.

On one hand you have RandFan who is saying “see, I told you so.” He thinks that Trump ended up being convinced or outmaneuvered into doing the right thing.

On the other hand you have the folks saying “It was all 4D chess. Wow Trump is smart!”. They think Trump’s resistance to releasing the files was a ruse to manipulate the Dems.

In reality, all of the important stuff will be redacted or withheld for “national security” reasons. It is neither Republicans or Democrats who fear what is in the the files. The real barrier is the intelligence agency that controlled Epstein and still controls both political parties. They wanted to stop the knowledge of their stranglehold over our nation from coming to light. They don’t lose. They won’t this time either.
