Texas Mom Screams in Pain Minutes Before Delivering Baby as Hospital Allegedly Delays Care, Asks Her Intake Questions

A Texas mother’s viral TikTok is sparking outrage after she shared footage of her daughter, Karrie Jones, in visible agony while waiting to be admitted for labor at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas.

The video, posted by Jones’ mother Kash (@kashman2814), has now been viewed more than 23 million times.

In the clip, Jones is seen doubled over in a wheelchair as a nurse asks admission questions. Her mother wrote in the text overlay that the staff kept her daughter in the waiting area for “more than 30 mins,” and that Jones’ son was born just “12 min later.” “The delivery was AWFUL,” the overlay continued, while the caption accused a “deathly charge nurse” of choosing “paperwork over life.”

At one point in the video, Jones screamed that the baby is “in her a--,” prompting her mother to ask the nurse, “Ya’ll treat all your patients like this or just the Black ones?”

The footage showed Jones coming out of the wheelchair and attempting to turn herself over as she appeared to be actively giving birth. In another clip, Kash recorded from inside her purse and captured her daughter pushing and crying out in pain.

Her mother asked, “Are y’all for real right now? Does she have to give birth in a chair?” The nurse responded that she “can’t take her upstairs,” leading Jones’ mom to question why staff would “take a chance of infections and her having a baby in this chair.”

I know a woman who gave birth more quickly with each pregnancy.

For her fourth, they were asking for prayer that she’d make it to the hospital 45 minutes away and not give birth in the car.

She didn’t make it out to the car. She gave birth at home after a few contractions. I never knew anyone who gave birth so easily.

So this woman in the article screamed in pain. Like that’s unusual for women giving birth? She probably would have had she been on the delivery table. That was NOT the result of the admission process which IMO was inexcusably slow for a woman in active labor.

People mag picked it up only after the video was posted to Tic Tok and has millions of views. Now other platforms like youtube et al are spreading it around like a case of herpes. So don’t bash People when in reality the are actually the last to know.

“ I don’t think the Le Boyer technique was around when I had my sons in 1966 and 1971.”

Ya he just took his ideas from nature and logic. Patterns. Sounds like you used it to a degree. Anesthesia is not important. Getting the baby through the process is and being near medical help is. The mom does all of the work. Well the baby does too. It’s not a great experience for tge baby. I wouldn’t think.

I’ve always heard that after the first birth it gets easier. It’s not uncommon for the 4th or 5th child to just pop out with ease, hardly any labor time and less pain as the first one.

The illegals still get pushed to the front of the line. I needed emergency surgery 15 years ago in Texas and there must have been a dozen illegals getting ahead of me. Granted, there were no thoracic surgeons on staff on a Sunday night but still. Maria needs the neonatal room for the grappling hook baby.

Nonsense. It’s not always like this. You can process paperwork after the baby is born.

And there are precipitous labors that go much faster than anyone expects. If you get there too early, they send you home. home.

3 births natural. 3rd was 9 lb 9 and shoulder dystopia.

4th birth I had an epidural. No drugged up baby, she was fine.

Screaming involuntary and continuous in spite of intention to use it to push.

Epidural spared me diarrhea and vomiting, which I thought was just part of giving birth. No, part of pain.

Sure I was hooked up to seven lines or leads. Couldn’t walk. It was worth it.

Our health care system sucks. It is one of worlds worst. Now it takes 2 years to get a primary care physician and you have to go to the emergency room for regular doctor visits. It’s looking good though if you’re a politician or a insurance company as you are making lots of bank. Illegal Free Care is pretty good for some too.

Dallas Regional Hospital in Mesquite is one of the worst hospitals in the DFW metroplex.

My daughter is a RN at a rehab hospital. She has had patients from Dallas Regional.

God forbid that you should miss that Intake station mid-labor. Gotta get that insurance information. The mother should’ve said they were illegals so they’d be put on the Express Lane with no questions asked.

My experience on the ER has always been like this. Damn intake questions.

“Well, everyone gets the same treatment …it’s always horrible.”

I’ve been in ERs in SoCal, and that’s not 100% accurate. You can be in the waiting area for three hours when a non-English-speaking (probably illegal) walks through the door.

No Intake questions asked, then treated before all other patients.

“They have to have admission information they need to know medical history, insurance info, next of kin”

They don’t. It would be best to have that, but it’s not always possible.

Wow, we engaged with a good doctor early in process... no problems. We didn’t go the 16th century birthing reenactment route... or the water birth phenomenon... I know, I know... how could we forego putting baby’s life at risk at such a critical memory event.

I know a lady who did the reenactment scene twice... almost lost the first child... and lost the 2nd... ended up in the ER both times. And wasn’t charged with murder! Or attempted murder.

There are birthing centers which will accommodate a variety of methods.

Years ago I saw a survey of OB Labor And Delivery healthcare workers. They were asked to tell how mothers of different ethnicities handled birth. Asian women were the most stoic and silent. Hispanics and blacks tied for drama queen screamers. All others fell between those.
