At my son’s college there was a shooting years ago. One student died - the shooter walked up behind him un-noticed and placed the shotgun barrel a few inches from the back of his neck.

Several other students were shot (bird shot thank God) and were shown on the news with their shirts off and what looked like a large rash from a distance.

On youtube there is a video of a girl coming down the stairs, turning the corner and getting shot from about 6’ to 8’ away. She looks down at her chest, and walks away confused. She was shot in the chest and arm, and her arm took quite awhile to get the full use back.

A brave student acting as hall monitor heard the shooting and ran and tackled the gunman, spraying him with pepper spray and then holding him in a leg lock until the cops arrived.
