I’m very happy that you escaped from “no man’s land” and have found happiness in Tennessee! I’ve always thought Tennessee was one of the most beautiful states in our country! Congratulations!

“I’ve always thought Tennessee was one of the most beautiful states in our country!”

We agree! I’m from rural western NY at the PA border — “Southern Tier”. Every season of the year is stunningly beautiful. We considered retiring there where we have roots from the mid-1700s. Then came the truth about taxes!

Visited east TN in 2007, and if you didn’t know better you’d believe it was “home”. Landscape is the same. People are the same. Politics are the same. In fact, I’ve seen more Confederate flags back home in NY than I’ve ever seen in TN.

Hubby was lucky to get a job in the Knoxville area, so the company moved us here in 2010. Retired a few years later. It is gorgeous — except the NY autumn is MUCH more colorful than TN.
