I generally like Sam Rockwell in movies so i might check this out,
You will enjoy the Verbinski interview linked below. He says he and Rockwell had been wanting to work together for years, and that as soon as he sent him the script, Rockwell was all in.
He also chuckles and says it’s unusual to start a movie with an eleven page monologue, but by all accounts Rockwell pulls it off beautifully. He walks in looking like a lunatic and has to assemble a team to risk their lives to save the world.
I love him. Check out Galaxy Quest if you haven’t seen it. Very good little sleeper movie
