Synopsis:
Three siblings with contrasting lives in 1989 East Germany - one a state employee, another an eco-activist, and the third resurfacing from the West. A poignant look at the Berlin Wall's fall and its aftermath.
GDR, 1989: Margot, Lotte and Silvia are three siblings that they cannot be more different. As a high-ranking employee of "commercial coordination", Margot is responsible for setting the state financially stabilized. Lotte, on the other hand, is beginning to engage in the rebelling environmental movement. The youngest sister Silvia disappeared from the lives of the other two a long time ago, until she reappears on the other side of the wall.
One of my all-time favorite movies is “Goodbye, Lenin!”
I probably heard of the movie when it came out, but don't remember seeing it. I like movies like that. The kid Alex was played by Daniel Brühl, whom I've seen in TV series and movies. He was the Criminal Psychiatrist in the TV adaptation of novel "The Alienist."
Another German TV series I enjoyed was Deutschland 83, Deutschland 86, and Deutschland 89.
Excellent.
“He was the Criminal Psychiatrist in the TV adaptation of novel “The Alienist.””
Excellent novel. Solid TV show.
Never read the book, but watched both seasons of the series. The other mystery series I've enjoyed is "Vienna Blood." Still waiting to hear if they'll be a 5th season. The TV series was based on a book series too, but I never read them. I read that the 4th season was based on the last book in the series, but one can hope.
