Yes I’m surprised.
I’m surprised that considering the big money these players make nowadays, that they would risk that for being involved in a gambling scheme.
All sports are in danger of being deemed fake by society. Last week it was basketball, now baseball, football next up............

They should learn from politicians and have their close relatives lay the bets.
Once sports gambling became semi-legal, this sort of thing became inevitable.
From some of the sloppy play I saw in the nfl yesterday I’m pretty convinced there are compromised players.....and I Also suspect the officiating needs to be called in to question as well.
I’d like to know how the “official betting partner” of the MLB feels about this. Gambling revenue will soon greatly eclipse sporting revenue. Pretty soon all sport will become the WWE as controlling the action to sheer the sheep becomes more and more profitable.
Who would have ever guessed that widespread sports betting might result in cheating? What a shock!

I’ve wondered about football sometimes.
I’ve just been a casual fan of football, so can’t give any particular examples.
But I’ve often heard that the referees could call holding on every play.
Then, I’ve heard that there are blatant infractions which appear on instant replay, which the referees apparently didn’t see at all.
And the explanation or excuse if you will, is that when they hike the ball,,you have 22 guys in motion all at once, and it’s hard to see everything.
I think there was an NBA official, who was accused and,or disciplined with improper officiating a few years ago?
Ahhh, worked with a guy once that's all he ever bet on - MLB.
He also fell out of his tree stand and spent weeks in the hospital. So any questions I had regarding his sanity were answered.

That doesn’t rhyme. Yet, I would have difficulty convicting these guys of anything. They didn’t throw a game or anything.
And I think we’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg
