A mom of four from Indiana was fatally gunned down after arriving at the wrong address for her cleaning job — and her grieving husband, who watched her die, is now demanding justice.
Maria Florinda Ríos Pérez, 32, was shot dead just before 7 a.m. Wednesday as she and her husband, Mauricio Velázquez, arrived at a Whitestown home they’d been hired to clean, IndyStar reported. The couple, who are self-employed cleaners, checked the address twice and circled the neighborhood — a tiny suburb about 22 miles from Downtown Indianapolis — to make sure they were in the right place, the report said.
As they tried to get the keys they’d been provided into the door of the stately home — and Pérez teased her fumbling husband and grabbed the keyring from him — a single shot rang out, and the mother dropped bleeding to the ground.

It could be very simple.
The residents of 123 Maple Street request cleaning services.
The "dispatcher" gives the job to our couple, along with the keys, and tells them the job is at 23 Maple Street.
This leaves our couple only with the instructions "go to 23 Maple Street, you have the keys, go in and [do whatever cleaning services].
So they very carefully check their work order, they check the numbers on the houses ... and it all lines up. 23 Maple Street.
They fumble with the keys (which don't fit), and before they can figure out that something is wrong, the resident(s) shoot them through the closed door.
And here we are.
When it's cops getting the wrong address THE SAME WAY, they break the door down, rip the place apart, kill the dog, handcuff the residents ... and then say "Ooops! My bad" ... and expect us to have some sort of sympathy for the poor cops.
I don't see how this ends up being a "good shoot".
No mention of the perp’s identity.
I wonder what that means?
A Colt’s RB?
“Get off my front porch.”
Never slip a key into a door unless you’ve made contact with the owner.
I live in Hawaii where you basically
have no right to use a gun to defend
yourself.
My entire property ( 5 acres) is Hog proof
fenced and marked as No trespassing.
If you can get past the very protective
Donkey, two very loud great Danes
(they just Bark), a couple of
mongrel dogs, and get to my door,
I’ll have very good reason to believe
you are up to being a threat to me
or my property.
I’ll act accordingly.
Interestingly, I live next to a very deep gulch, 80 to 100 feet deep that washes into the ocean. Lots of wild pigs abound in it. Something that is dead gets stripped to the bone in hours. and the bones get chomped on also.
I won’t call the police. Nature will take care of the
problem.
Aloha!
Key provisions of Indiana’s (”castle”) law include:
No Duty to Retreat: The law eliminates the duty to retreat before using force in places where a person is lawfully present, including their home, vehicle, or workplace.
Locations Covered: Heightened protection is specifically granted within a person’s dwelling, curtilage, or an occupied motor vehicle.
The porch is considered the curtilage.
And prayers UP for the husband. He is in a nightmare right now.
I hope he stays in Guatemala with this wife after he returns her.
I can’t wait to hear where they got “the keys that had been provided” if they are in fact independent cleaning contractors - having not been to the house.
And if they are having income taxes withheld.
Maybe it’s just me.

Seems like they went to the house they intended...for why? A door cam video, for instance, might tell a different story.
It's not like these two would understand the owner.
"Que? Que?"
Good question.
One of those is glaringly omitted.
Yeah that is what is the important part of the story.
A shooting at a home, you gotta ask “Drug dealer? User?”
Cleaning equipment also make good visual cover for an op of some sort.
You don’t shoot through a door just because you hear a noise.
Nice setup. You could probably train the donkey to finish the job and dump the body.
