The dims see democrat/socialist wins in democrat controlled areas, and extrapolate those mostly-expected democrat wins, to mean they’re taking over the country.
The lowest ranking team in football could win a game, but does that mean they’re going to the super-bowl?
Can’t believe they elected a Muslim. Does his wife cover herself? Has she been seen at any time with a cover?
Here is an idea.
Get rid of the filibuster and pass term limitations so they can not run again next election.
The left is not about to take power. They are about to display their abuse of it in NY City and other places. I applaud the voters in New York for this opportunity to fail and harm someone. It’s been nothing for them to talk the walk...

“If Mamdani’s triumphant affordability platform—which includes plans to provide universal childcare by increasing taxes on high-income earners—is implemented, it could lead to a significant transfer of wealth from the wealthy elite to the working class and provide a blueprint for socialist leaders across the country.”

If. Big word. IF your grandmother had balls, she’d be your grandfather.
This whole argument is based on 2 rather unlikely factors: first, that this Communist can successfully raise taxes and/or fees enough to pay for the boondoggle that he (with his vast experience at age 34) wants to implement. Maybe he’ll succeed there, even though Governor Hochul has said that NY State isn’t helping NYC with funding…but let’s give him that one, because it is the easiest part of the equation. Second, all of those wealthy people must BOTH stay in place in NYC AND not do anything to protect their income and/or assets. That’s just NOT going to happen - they (or their families) didn’t get wealthy by sitting around waiting to pay taxes in the highest tax jurisdiction in the country. They are either going to move (and many have already started making plans in that direction), or they are going to use the recommendations of the very high-priced lawyers and accountants that they employ to escape whatever taxes they can.
So, bottom line, the Communist isn’t going to succeed. Actually, he’s far more likely to be an object lesson to the American public of why you don’t vote for these thieves masquerading as do-gooders.
Could have?
Should have.
We will see the smoke clouds soon.
True
The left didn’t take power in NYC/NY.
The left kept power in NYC and NY.
Now, to try to keep the city afloat, the socialist mayor will have to do what the socialist president of Venezuela did, and that is to turn the city into a huge cartel. A drug making haven, just like Venezuela and Afghanistan and other failed countries
What does Israel have to do with - or even care about - the economics of welfare programs in NYC? NOTHING, that’s what. So explain why you felt compelled to bring the world’s only Jewish state into a discussion about local politics some 5,000 miles away.
Exactly the point. Sunstein is also worth observing, for he was a butt-licker to Obama. The point in mentioning these is to show how media "messages."
Many Freepers have mentioned Orwell's clever fiction about how media lies with intent, and to erase history. Ditto when some cite Alinsky, who seems well to have spawned the Clintons and Obamas.
While we are told they are "Americans," one may hold the view that they and the latest versions are essentially anti-American. By "messaging." By "nudging."
“OK, the dog has caught the car. Let’s see what happens now.”

I’m stealing that. Brilliant and funny!
Have you been to Yonkers?
Half way thought the campaign he will off AOC
So it’s time to take from those who have worked hard to get where they are and give to those who are on the dole
This article is a reprint from The Nation, an avowedly Communist organization.
“The actual working class in NYC, what’s left of it, did not vote for Mamdani the Commie. His voters are overwhelmingly white, single, young, female and college degree-ed.”
And Islamists and immigrants on some form of welfare. It would be more accurate to say “... white, single, young, female and college degree-ed females overwhelmingly voted for him.” But they don’t comprise close to 50% of NY voters.
““If Mamdani’s mission is stymied...” — Álvaro López, MSN.com”
Socialism is self-stymi-ing. The only issue is who gets the blame in the greater public’s mind. Blame is the big battle ahead.
You don't know that.
As a native New Yorker, I know that a great many New Yorkers, of all economic backgrounds, want 'mo free stuff.
His voters are overwhelmingly white, single, young, female and college degree-ed.
"Overwhelmingly white"? No.
Plenty of whites might have voted for Mamdani, but a great many people of color did so as well.
When it fails they will just say it wasn’t done right (just like hundreds of times before)🙄.
I don’t understand their concern. The historical successes of Communism is so well documented they need not be worried about how it will play out in NYC.
