Charlie Kirk, the conservative influencer who was assassinated in September, and Nick Fuentes, the young Hitler-loving white nationalist at the center of a growing schism on the right, were bitter enemies.
Fuentes despised Kirk for his support of Israel, and, more broadly, for his efforts to marginalize Fuentes’s gleefully racist and fascist brand of politics. In 2019, seeking to expose Kirk as “anti-white” and a “fake patriot,” Fuentes organized his army of young fans — known as Groypers, after a variant on the alt-right Pepe the Frog meme — to flood events held by Kirk’s organization, Turning Point, and ask hostile questions. At one, they drove Donald Trump Jr. off the stage.
After Kirk was murdered, Fuentes, perhaps fearing he’d be blamed, disavowed violence. But he continued his attacks on Turning Point and accused Kirk’s widow, Erika, of being happy her husband was dead. “I am getting this vibe from her that she’s very fake,” he said.
Even as Fuentes defamed Kirk’s widow, powerful conservatives were engaged in a nationwide campaign to canonize Kirk and destroy progressives who maligned him.
Guest-hosting Kirk’s podcast, JD Vance urged listeners to report anyone celebrating Kirk’s death to their employers. In such an atmosphere, one might think that Fuentes’s stock on the right would have fallen. Instead, it’s risen higher than ever, revealing a seemingly unstoppable ratchet of radicalization on the right.

An antisemitic fanboy of Adolf Hitler giving MAGA a bad name.
I notice the leftists are trying to make Fuentes the face off the Republican party.
That dog won’t hunt.
Fuentes could never succeed Charlie, because (1) he is not a true Christian, but a fake, performative one, like Candace; and (2) His heart is not overflowing with love and generosity, but rather hate and a desire for revenge against perceived wrongs done to him and his “race.”
Not really I dont /cant listen to him much. Prefer Jones although that defamation suit has had an effect possibly worn him down
Complete lie, NY slimes is trying to smear Charlies work and label conservatives with this article.
Basically, guilt through a fabricated association and a falsely attributed succession.
A Jew hating lowlife.
“ That Fuentes is Kirk’s successor is absurd and wishful thinking by the NYT.”
****************************************************************
I agree. I never heard of him until recently when the media suddenly began to keep bringing him up to serve as some sort of stalking horse boogie man,
I am sure that Nick Fuentes is a Rand Paul supporter. As a replacement for Charlie Kirk, not even in Rand Paul’s world.
What’s really messed up is that Tucker Carlson is the common thread for both Turning Point and Fuentes.
TP needs to disassociate totally from Carlson. Instead, they have him as the highlight of their December event.
And Carlson and Fuentes have a love connection, slobbering all over each other.
Again: Messed up.
“Tucker is like kryptonite now.”
The numbers will decide that issue.
Tucker currently has five million Youtube subscribers plus who knows how many more on other platforms.
How many subscribers do you have?
Lol.
Google AI quotes Nick Fuentes as saying “I love Hitler”.
Can anyone debunk that claim? Out of context?
Can anyone find the entire statement?
The Kirk family should sue the New York Times for slander - Nick Fuentes and Charlie Kirk were not on the same page, not even in the same league.
Fuentes created the playbook Carlson is now trying to use - by intent, be as controversial as possible as your route to getting enough attention. Fuentes is on the fringe of being “on the Right” and is nowhere on the center of it.
Charlie Kirk never tried to be controversial, was truly never controversial and was only considered controversial by the Leftists. Kirk was a centrist to the “Right” as anyone could be, and not at all on the fringes of it.
The New York Times has manufactured its own erroneous political placement of Nick Fuentes and Charlie Kirk, hoping to use the former’s positions with which to slander the later.
Agreed. I don’t like Nick all too much, and I agree with him on very little. That said, I also don’t agree with de-platforming individuals because they hold stupid opinions.
People are entitled to their opinions. I’m of the school of thought that sunlight is the best disinfectant. I like the old adage, “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak up and remove all doubt.”
So, if Tucker wants to interview Nick and afford him an opportunity to prove himself a fool, so much the better. Let him spill his guts. But I gather I will continue to disagree with him at the end of the day because I’m a rational person.
“TP needs to disassociate totally from Carlson. Instead, they have him as the highlight of their December event.”
I must be missing something.
Who appointed you the judge and jury of what TP should and should not be doing?
It’s the new Q or Project 2024 propagandist playbook.
The media takes an obscure fringe group or person and tries to portray them as representing the average conservative, thus defining the entire movement as EXTREME. 😱
I dont know it’s probably hysteria
Would someone rationally (and grown up) say that?
“Charlie Kirk never tried to be controversial”
Correct.
His reward was he got assassinated.
The message young conservatives got was that being “reasonable” and “non-controversial” had zero benefit.
The left is going to hate you and call you names and try to kill you anyway.
No, they need him to point at all of us and say “see, we told you they are all racists and antisemites” Theyll bump him up for the next 2 years for midterms.
He’s not
MAGA.
You can support Israel but not agree with the “extent” of the Israeli operations in Gaza.
Nations after a horrific event often, maybe even usually, over react. We were no different post 9-11.
But... If you think you want to live in any country besides Israel in that entire region, to include Turkey, you’re lying to yourself. Israel is the only nation in that region with a true republic, real elections, a rule of law where you as a Christian, Bahai, Druze, or Jew are treated fairly. It’s the only western liberal (classical meaning) society in that region where you have a semblance of freedom.
