A Florida sheriff’s deputy heroically rescued a 7-year-old boy over the weekend by stopping his knife-wielding older brother with a single, precise shot to the head, authorities said.
Bodycam footage has captured the moment the deputy kicked down a locked bedroom door after hearing the boy’s desperate cries for help, moments before opening fire.
The incident happened Sunday when Deputy Anthony Gonzalez, 25, responded to a frantic domestic violence call at a home near Tampa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect, Mario Camacho, 27, was reportedly armed with a knife and choking his younger brother.
Camacho’s sister, who placed the 911 call, had also been injured, suffering superficial cuts and bleeding from her mouth, officials said.

Obvious case of paranoia, psychotic or schizophrenic. The country has to come to terms with institutionalizing these people.
Wearing two vest with plates is going to severely hinder your mobility. But he didn't have anywhere to run, and no room to fight.
At least wearing the helmet would have restricted the spray of gore in the room.
This police dept and officer will never hear the end of this now.
I once lived in a town where something similar happened nearly forty years ago — a mentally disturbed family member was threatening family and then police officers with a knife - the usual happened, much like this case.
There are people to this day in that town that blame and besmirch the officer and the police department for ‘murdering’ that deranged person.
Yes, Deputy Gonzalez neutralized the threat on the life of an innocent seven-year-old child by an active, armed, violent felon, without further damage to victims.

Another defensive incident that the great Gabby Giffords doesn’t want to have happen.
We could come to their homes at 3:00 AM, pick them up along with any magazines they possess, and lock them and the magazines in separate rooms at the Police Station, for public safety.
Of course the Police Officers would not be allowed to read the magazines, even if they are titled "Antifa Today!" and "The Arizona Agitator".

The poor family. Mario Camacho, 27, goes insane, cuts his younger sister and shot dead while threatening his 7 year old brother with a knife. The younger kids have a lifetime of trauma ahead of them.
I’m glad the Deputy did not have to shoot his own brother. That would be tragic.
A grown man, but a child to the mother and father who have to bury their son.
He saved the child from his insane brother.
I presume by ‘He’ that you mean the deputy.
