Translation: Air Canada acknowledges the ancestral and traditional lands of Indigenous Peoples over which it flies

Entire message :

Air Canada acknowledges the ancestral and traditional lands of Indigenous Peoples over which it flies as part of its reconciliation journey and commitment to building respectful relationships. This is demonstrated through various initiatives, such as its all-Indigenous flight crews, partnerships with Indigenous organizations, and support for Indigenous employees and youth. The airline has also implemented new policies, like the one allowing sacred items to be brought onboard in the cabin after advance notice.

Land acknowledgments: Air Canada's network crosses many treaty lands as well as unceded and traditional territories, and the airline recognizes the ancestral and traditional lands of the Indigenous Peoples it flies over.

Indigenous crew flights: The airline has organized flights with all-Indigenous crews, which also highlight the contributions of Indigenous employees in the aviation industry. These flights have been organized in partnership with groups like the First Nations Major Projects Coalition (FNMPC).

Commitment to reconciliation: Air Canada states that reconciliation is a journey and is committed to learning, consulting, and fostering respectful relationships with Indigenous communities.

Support for Indigenous employees: The company has highlighted the achievements of its Indigenous employees and created roles to support Indigenous relations and reconciliation, partly in response to a previous incident regarding the transportation of a headdress.

Partnerships and support: Air Canada supports Indigenous organizations and has worked with partners like the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) and Indspire.

Policy changes: Following discussions, Air Canada introduced a new policy allowing for the reservation of space in the cabin for sacred items, provided notice is given at least 24 hours in advance.

> A fourth person quipped, ‘Should be a land acknowledgment for the dinosaurs.’ <

I don’t care who you are. That’s funny right there.

And on a more serious note, I wonder if Carney will follow Starmer, and start arresting people who dare to mock the government.

Call it a public order offense, Mr. Carney. That will do nicely.

Dear Air Canada:
This is my 24 hours advance notification I wish to bring my sacred untamed, rabid Honey Badger on your airplane for transport in the cabin with me...

It’s so stupid and Wokey to defy comment.

Besides, all the tribes they mention settled the region by invading from northwest Asia.

Nobody knows who preceded them except the dinosaurs.

FR comments raise a vital question, however.

Who would win: a dinosaur or a honey badger ?

This is a far more serious matter than the silly airline bullkrap
Smiles smiles smiles.

I notice the jackwagons making these land acknowledgements, that they are possessing “stolen land” never offer to return it or offer actual value compensation.

Funny how that works.

They do this in Australia also. Visit Australia websites and most of them have it also.

What makes me laugh is that the “indigenous” people never really considered “private property.” When the settlers showed up and offered to buy the land, they said, “Sure…I will sell you the land!” The natives thought they were pulling the wool over the settler’s eyes,

History is full of strong people taking from weak people.

That will never change.

Shouldn’t they acknowledge that it all used to belong to the Dinosaurs.

I can kind of see, using lots of twisted logic, a train, as you know, you’re on land. For the plane just doesn’t even make any sense at all. Liberalism 101.

Not good enough!!

On those Toronto to Vancouver flights, the flight attendants need to apologize for every single patch of ancestral Indian land they are currently flying over. Until they do this, they are simply not serious about avoiding offense to the First Nations. Much more groveling is needed. As my contribution to their effort. I've written the apologies that their flight attendants can read to the passengers:

Only one universal land acknowledgement is needed:

“The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.”

Canada needs to find some Neanderthal bones—create a new Neanderthal from the DNA from the remains—and deed the entire country to them!

Check with homeowners in Richmond BC on this crap. Every time some idiotic organization starts up with this land acknowlegement garbage they are laying themselves open for an economic disaster.

It's time for the western and northern provinces and territories to secede from Canada and become US states!

They are neither “native” nor “indigenous.”

Their ancestors were from Asia.

Did the same native tribes occupy these same lands, or did they war with each other and different tribes occupied them at different times, like in the other parts of the Americas?

All this this is the elites taking more control over the people by establishing this cockamamie indigenous people crap....the human race has wandered the world FOREVER and whoever landed wherever took over...end of story..

when those two little kids went missing in Nova Scotia several months ago at the first press conference the first thing they said was some stinking acknowledgment of the "indigenous" land or something such crap..

I am done with it..black fatigue and this Indian narrative..

Make sure that the original indigenous people are returned to the land in their Stone Age original condition. No evil colonist technology allowed. No dentistry, antibiotics, wheels, steel, stirrups, etc etc.
