One day I was doing errands and my car got locked with the key inside, spare missing.
I called a locksmith. He stopped by and opened the car. I asked whether he wanted credit or a check. He demanded cash.
I told him that I didnt have enough cash left (he was charging a premium due to day, etc). I told him that if he didnt want check or credit then either he could wait for Monday or since we were standing near a tobacco shop, a liquor store, and a grocer that I would go in and buy him more than the price he was requesting of an item he wanted so that he knew I wasnt going to run off without paying anything.
Yes, I had a credit card but EBT could in theory be used that same way for groceries in exchange for other things.
I would like the point out that most of the stories people tell about EBT theft include two important elements, a large black female and lobsters. The stories that arent just for Youtube or entirely bullshit are quite possibly exactly this playing out. The black community doesnt prize lobster, they eats dey shramp and could get many more pounds for the same price if it was for themselves. We know they arent paying their Jewish landlord or something because they cant eat them. The only people that prize lobster and are willing to pay that price are asian/caucasian christian/atheists.
They owed a plumber, a shade tree mechanic, etc and had to pay their bill with something of value.
...or traded $100 in lobsters for $50 worth of gin and Newports.
