If the ball bounces off the wall right to the outfielder, odds are the runners would be on 2nd and 3rd, anyway. Of course we’ll never know, but the rule is clear.

No it is not; the fielder merely needed to pick up the ball. This is incredible. It did lodge, but it did not affect the play, other than it helped the fielder pick up the ball.
