Do NOT concede. Democrats EITHER vote to reopen government WITHOUT the Medicaid funds or let it fall apart. I and my family will suffer what we have to suffer.

QQ, do snap accounts get credited on weekends? What time will these bitchers wake up today? And when are where is this massive food riot supposed to start? I guess when they wake up and find their snap cards are empty??

im white, I've never thought about stealing food after kindergarten. I got caught and was embarrassed even at age 5. Unlike some adults who have no moral compass.

This!! The Dems have been building up to this for years by helping more and more folks onto the welfare and snap programs. There’s a group of people that have lived off of the taxpayers for a couple generations that will go nuts when their free food is unavailable. This is what the Shumer shutdown is all about. The Dems think it will help their cause/agenda and I hope it buries them instead.

Yep, the more on welfare, the more votes for democrats.

The same thing applies with illegal aliens—the more illegal aliens they can flood this country with (or keep in this country)—the more future democratic votes.

The district judges’ orders allegedly defy the CASA decision by the Supreme Court on June 27, 2025 as these October 31st orders are made nationwide and this Supreme Court decision prohibits the lower courts from making such orders. Thus, the government executive branch lawyers are going to raise this point and possibly others with the district judges on Monday to get unambiguous clarification on what these district judges are ordering. If the district judges confirm that they are denying the Supreme Court order then the government executive branch lawyers may immediately try to comply or they may appeal. I don’t imagine that there are unlimited amounts of contingency funds for emergencies and that such funds will eventually go dry unless Congress passes some law(s) to appropriate funds.

The Senate has voted on a lot of roll calls this last month. Those could provide a clue as th why these funds are running low.

I find it hard to believe that 42 million people can’t find jobs when there are 7.2 million job openings. Of that number, over 13% are unskilled jobs that could be filled by anyone who can still fog a mirror. I think people on welfare should have to work 40 hours per week like everyone else. Instead of just giving the money away, they wash windows, clean toilets, sweep sidewalks of public buildings or whatever else needs to be done. I just wonder how many of those people would think: “What the hell. If I have to work anyway, why not get a better job.” Workfare has been used in Europe for decades and their welfare rates are half that in the US. True, some cannot work, but the rest should.

The Shutdown is a 2025 iteration of the 2020 Lockdown - an attempt to destroy the economy.

I noticed they did not write “American citizens.”

https://cis.org/

Federal funding for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP),
also called food stamps, runs out on Saturday due to the government shutdown. The funding cut-off will hit illegal immigrants hard.
The Center’s 2023 analysis of government survey data shows households headed by illegal immigrants make extensive use of the welfare system, particularly food assistance programs.

Among our prior findings:

Of households headed by illegal immigrants,
CIS estimated that 59 percent use one or more welfare programs —
cash, food assistance, Medicaid, or housing.
Illegal immigrant households have especially high use of food programs,
with 48 percent enrolled in one or more of these programs — SNAP, WIC, or school lunch/breakfast.
In particular, our analysis found that 17 percent of illegal immigrant households used SNAP.
In addition to food programs, 18 percent of illegal immigrant households were enrolled in one of the cash programs; 4 percent were using a housing program; and 39 percent used Medicaid.
Illegal immigrants often receive welfare on behalf of U.S.-born children, and illegal immigrant children can receive school lunch/breakfast and WIC directly. Some states provide Medicaid to illegal immigrants, and a few offer SNAP. Several million illegal immigrants also have been issued Social Security numbers allowing them to receive cash payments from the earned income tax credit if they work.
Many immigrants have modest levels of education and low incomes, so suspension of WIC and SNAP will impact a large share of this population. But this situation raises important policy questions, including whether it makes sense to have an immigration system that allows in so many people who turn to taxpayers to support their children.

“over its refusal to use the SNAP emergency fund”

This is not an emergency. An emergency is something unforeseen or unexpected. Democrats refusing to fund the government because they don’t have the political power to do what they want, does not qualify.

Not only keeping the Federal Government shut down but all they’re doing is a self-inflicted collapse of the Democrats and they will never recover.
