Thanks! No, this is not a seasonal allergy thing or flu, but an actual cough type cold.
I felt pretty bad the first few days and it dragged on for about 10 days with me feeling better during the day but laying down and coughing a lot at night.
Nice.
If she never thawed the turkey .... does that mean the giblets were still a frozen lump inside? You can’t really get them out unless the bird is thawed!!
My bird is finally showing signs of thawing, thank goodness.
You know, I had something just like that a week or so ago. The cough mostly manifested at night. Hubby ran to get me some OTC cough medicine which I only needed for a few days. I really have attributed mine to leaf mold, because I’ve been working around the leaves a lot.
Maybe it was a virus instead? The itchy inside my ears makes me think it was allergy driven. I am prone to bronchitis, so I understand the concern. I’m glad to be on the other side of recovery though. I hope you continue to heal up, and quickly!
Oh, absolutely, never! They look perfectly awful. Gag!
She also under-bakes pies and cookies....🙄
This habit conditioned my husband, her son, to like under-baked things.
When we bake a pizza, he takes his portion off the pan, and I return the pan to the oven to get the crust done and make the cheese bake how a normal person likes it. LOL.😅

And you claim to be a Southerner? You're making Forrest Gump cry a little, LOL! ;)
I bet if you dumped the thawed filling into a strainer and rinsed it with water, the actual food chunks are maybe 3 or 4 tablespoons. All sauce. Thats another thing don’t add too much gravy. You’ll have a nice moist slice to eat, not a wet mess in a bowl to eat with a spoon.
Yes, my whole family has disowned me for this grievous error in judgment. It is the TRUE reason I have been banished to live the rest of my days North of the Mason-Dixon Line! 😆
Hubby belly laughed as I read that post to him!
My son, who loves to cook, bake, and “mix” ingredients, has teased me with his homemade cinnamon rolls/buns that he intends to make for us when he and his GF come for Christmas this year. He showed me a photo of his work a week ago. He is often experimenting in the kitchen (like his Mama).
If he was proud enough to show me a photo, then you KNOW it must’ve been amazing! Being in the kitchen is one of his MANY talents. Sometimes I can’t believe he is the same person who had stomach issues growing up. (We had to put him on a strict probiotic regimen in HS to correct all the antibiotics he had been prescribed early in his life. He was a sick kid. Not his fault, but he has triumphed over that. And look at him now! A miracle that he is so much better!)
Thank you! I will start trying to make pot pies now. I have a great pie crust recipe, and also an amazing puff pastry recipe. This will be my new project.
However, just a heads up. It took me nearly 25 years to get my MIL’s meatloaf recipe just right. I pursued it until I got a positive review from her. Now she tells me I make it better than she or any of her daughters make it (4 daughters). I’ll take that!
I love stories with happy endings.
