But the free-trade Republicans deserve a share of the blame, too. When I graduated high school many decades ago, I had my choice of good factory jobs. The was no need to go on welfare. The work was there.

Feeding families the typical SNAP diet is being an accessory to murder. Sugar sodas, boxed pre-packaged high fat foods, sugary creals and snacks.
They can pay their Internet and smart phone bills but they can’t afford to eat.

I agree. The only food items that should be covered under SNAP are healthy things like fruits, vegetables, rice, legumes like beans and lentils, whole grains, meats and dairy.
That tells us all we need to know.
The grocery stores should only be available to Instacart orders to avoid vandalism.
