In May 1979, her father Jerry Buss he purchased the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA, the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL, The Forum, and a 13,000-acre ranch in the Sierra Nevada from Jack Kent Cooke for $67.5 million (equivalent to $290 million in 2024).

DAMN. What a deal. Now the Lakers alone have been sold for $10 billion.

Great. The Lakers are based in one of the biggest failed cities on Earth...Los Angeles. $10 billion for a basketball team located in a sewer of a city. The disconnect here is incredible.

10 billion to watch grown men run around in their underwear and put a round ball through a hoop. Amazing waste of time and resources.
