One of the better voice disguises I've seen, for the blindfolded panel of the show. She had a great sense of humor.

Loved Rosalind Russell.
Loved “What's My Line”.
One of the greatest game shows on TV ever.
The great Dorothy Kilgallen and Arlene Frances.
What great memories.

That was fun! Thanks for posting.

And as a side note, I miss those days. Back then, TV was just entertainment. No political messages. No social lectures. Just pure entertainment.

there was a little politics, but it wasn’t overly mean and usually actually pretty funny regardless of what party one was- johnny carson would get a few quips in, but they were funny and mostly very respectful

That was good - when men were known as actors and women were known as actresses...something else that got turned upside down in this country - and probably in others!

My mom always gave a lot of the “credit” for that to Dr. Benjamin Spock. She was not a fan.

Russell was great in “Picnic” also from 1955.

Russell was a registered Republican and supported Richard Nixon in the 1960 presidential campaign. She was also a devout Catholic.

Good to know.

Sad to think that these days, she’d have been blacklisted or shadow-banned, in Hollywood.

Not necessarily. There are quite a few silent conservatives in Hollywood, not just actors, but especially in the crafts and services. Capable professionals in Hollywood are permitted to pursue their careers as long as they avoid politics. Or, their political views may be known privately, but they are expected not to be outspoken or too public about it.

I believe Charlton Heston once said that in Hollywood, there were more closet conservatives than closet homosexuals.
