@freethepeople

One of the main reasons why the government remains shut down — and why Speaker Johnson (R-La.) is preventing the House of Representatives from convening — is that Massie has the votes to release the Epstein files.

"Moreover, did he file for a discharge petition while Biden was office? Just like he voted for CRs while Biden was President...that I guess had no foreign aid in them..."

He's not an attorney. Is that something he could do as a Congressman?

I don't think I've ever heard of discharge petitions as they relate to Congress. In the Penal system, a CR is a conditional release. I only know that because I worked in NY State's prison system for 25 years. Would a Massie CR have gone to the DOJ?

That’s what this post is about. A discharge petition in the House forces a vote on an issue if there are 218 signatures on said petition. He has partnered with the Democrats on this. They are claiming the House is not in session to avoid swearing in another Democrat member that has pledged to sign his petition.

But it obviously has nothing to do with the government being shut down as the House already passed the CR and the Democrats are the ones filibustering it in the Senate. That is obvious nonsense.

Oh I see the confusion now.

I was commenting on two different issues - his claims regarding his saying he was just as interested in the Epstein release back when Biden was in office as he is now - but he didn’t file a discharge petition then, did he? As stated above, a discharge petition in the House forces a vote on an issue if there are 218 signatures on said petition. He has partnered with the Democrats on this. They are claiming the House is not in session to avoid swearing in another Democrat member that has pledged to sign his petition.

Also he claims to note vote for any foreign aid, but voted for CRs (continuing resolutions) while Biden was President...did they not fund foreign aid?

Why doesn’t Massie and his diminutive little buddy , Paul, do something to get the military paid. He gets his paycheck. And he doesn’t do shit but bloviate.

Thanks for clarifying that.

"Also he claims to no vote for any foreign aid, but voted for CRs (continuing resolutions) while Biden was President...did they not fund foreign aid?"

I don't specifically know about him voting for continual resolutions that funded foreign aid. When I did a search, I found two 2024 articles about him voting against continued funding of Ukraine. Consider the sources:

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie 1 of 3 House members to vote against resolution for Ukraine
