It is a long story but Management wanted a new system but refused to pay for the hardware to run it...Yet could afford brand new SUV’s and Pickup trucks for their agents...I suggested they sell a good number of them so we could afford some decent servers...
Sorry but as someone who spent nearly 2 years unable to get a job under Biden, claiming things are worse under Trump is bullshit.
Thank God Trump won, or I’d probably be closing in on 3 years unemployed
Now that I see how old you are, hopefully you prepared for retirement. I got a layoff notice ‘days’ before I was going to submit my retirement package. After 35 years with the company I got an extra 6 months severance. Hopefully your ‘bridge to retirement’ is as easy as mine was.

On crack again?
The Market knows we have no federal spending cap now, so no worries.
I will survive as I have the Good Lord on my side but the GOP may not with this upcoming SNAP cutoff...
If there is a substantial economic downturn, Trump will be blamed by the country at large and the conspiracy theories will start flying on the right. If he fails, the whole right fails and I don't see the left allowing another opportunity for the right to get control.
>> look for a job that requires a real person: plumber, carpenter, etc.
I’m fixing to dump my “Learn To Puke At Coding” career and getting into the “subsistence agriculture” racket. :-)
Here's hoping all remains well with you. As to the "GOP," one has to ask which GOP, the schisms being strained and great. Independents will likely be the deciding factor in midterms. Be well.
The repos I can understand. What they paid for their cars is ridiculous.
Retirement is a thing of the past, many are figuring that out..very late. Saw today Sherman Williams Corporation has cut off their employees retirements.. Happened to my Dad. Company he worked for filed bankruptcy and lost it all. Hired a Lawyer and he told Dad it would cost him more than what he had in the retirement to fight it.
The Democrats are being blamed.
>> Some people would rather start a civil war than admit they were wrong.
Other people will see what’s going on, understand the underlying root causes that President Trump is addressing, and say (every day! over and over!) “I’m getting what I voted for!”. I am one of those people. And unashamed of it!
Much truth to that..I am hearing more dissention in the ranks like never before..
He is doing wonders with what he has to work with, but it is unlikely to be enough to save the nation from itself. The Democrats and their orc army of gibsmedats will see to it.
That’s sad … for your dad. I was always willing to take on the jobs no one else wanted (maintenance of legacy assets). So every time a layoff came around, I was the only one who had knowledge of legacy systems - never got laid off. I give thanks often, for my station in life - I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed - but one of the oldest, that knew how everything worked.
Unemployment takes out the trash. That’s why recessions are a good thing.
Leeches not Leaches. :)
True.
