Sometimes people think they’re more important than they are.

Trump is busy dealing with ending wars, managing the economy and getting legislation to reopen the government.

He’s likely not prioritizing the NBA.

I guess this means he is running as a Democrat, and a Democrat of the Al Sharpton variety. How utterly pathetic.

This was a years long investigation. Why must people blame or give credit to Trump for everything?

Ya, going after criminals is a real negative?

Did Smith even READ the indictment spelling out the literally insane things Chauncey did to help the criminal syndicate carry out this massive, elaborate scheme? This wasn’t jaywalking.

If this guy works in sports media, he ought to be more concerned about whether the allegations are true.

No surprise that the Trump administration believes in law enforcement and is going after criminals.

Professional sports, college sports and sports media are all taking in billions of dollars on sports betting. There are over $100 billion in bets made each year, which opens the door for corruption. The FBI should be concerned with bribery and rigging in sports. Smith just doesn’t want Trump to kill the golden goose.

NBA is part of the Antifa funding going on in Portland.
I suspect they are using gambling $$$ to fund it.

He's partially correct.

In previous years, these people (and the NBA) may have had (or been able to purchase) political protection to keep their racket under-wraps.

No doubt some race-baiting neo-marxist in the corrupt Holder-Obama DOJ would have asked: "is it a good political look among our base for us to be prosecuting black guys and basketball?"

Everything that happens in this world is Trump’s fault according to the left, despite the fact that those caught up in troubles like this, got there all on their own. These people never take responsibility for their actions.

‘IT’S VERY CONCERNING’]

WHAT DO YOU KNOW Stephen A. Smith,
AND WHEN DID YOU KNOW IT?

What is concerning? The probability of the NBA gambling or fixing games? Or the fact they are being investigaged?

<< “That’s not to question the legitimacy of the case. We don’t know. We’re all sitting up here and we’re saying that we don’t know.” >>

Yet neither that nor the fact that this investigation started years ago doesn’t prevent SAS and his race-obsessed ilk from asserting that Trump is out for revenge.

Legalization of sports gambling was a mistake in my opinion. Too much money involved to keep games honest

You can always count on Smith to try to be controversial. But in this case, he's really missing the boat because this is really the most controversial story in sports-so much that it should frighten everyone in the industry-from players, coaches, staff, broadcasters, and so on.

Based on the kind of money going around, the people typically involved in betting, the general lack of character among many athletes, and the way gambling (ad revenue) has been embraced by all sports leagues, this is only the beginning.
