RAND PAUL: It's a threat to our economy and our dollar... I’ll keep voting NO until Washington gets serious about balancing the budget

@RandPaul

Like I told @cherylcasone on @MorningsMaria, Republicans ran against Biden’s reckless spending… then adopted his spending levels. I won’t. $38 trillion in debt isn’t sustainable. It’s a threat to our economy and our dollar. I’ll keep voting no until Washington gets serious about balancing the budget.

Once again, Rand barks up the wrong tree and misses the forest for the trees.

First of all, higher TAXES is a much greater threat to our economy than the deficit. Singularly insisting on a balanced budget puts pressure to raise taxes which would be a disaster for individuals and the economy.

Second of all, the issue is the HUGE illegal and unconstitutional gov’t. Why doesn’t Rand rail and say “NO” to continuing and supporting that???

Cutting the feds to their constitutional size would AUTOMATICALLY fix the deficit and the IRS would be reduced to a storefront.

Voting no on keeping the government open at the current rate for a short period of time is not the place or time. He can vote against budgets but this is not principled.

And as usual he is a liar.

He voted Yes this morning.

He still hasn’t admitted that Trump’s tariffs have been successful after he attacked the President over them, and wants to reduce Trump’s authority to set them.

I’ll keep voting NO until Washington gets serious about balancing the budget.

We are $38 trillion in debt and rapidly counting. Our representatives are feckless!! I wish a majority of Senators as well as Representative held Rand's attitude.

"Gee Rand, with all your years in the Senate why is it that you haven’t been able to convince your colleagues to get serious about balancing the budget? Are you ineffectual?"

In 2013, after a 13 hour filibuster against the confirmation of John Brennan, where he harped on Obama using drones to attack Americans, 13 Republicans voted to confirm Brennan as CIA Director. Two years later, when Obama killed four Americans in drone attacks, two of which were being held by Al Qaeda in Pakistan, he defended Obama's use of drones to conduct the attacks because "they were holding hostages." He's nothing but a blowhard and hypocrite.

Just this past September, he joined forces with a RAT Senator to co-sponsor a Bill to protect DACA illegals from having to self-deport once they turned 21. This Bill mirrored a Bill introduced in the House by RATS.

"He misses the intent of why the liberals are doing this."

He knows exactly the intent of the RATS, that's why he's voting with him. He's been in the Senate for almost 15 years...the a-hole knows.

Most of the deficit is from these endless wars and the covid response. And Rand is correct the dollar is headed towards the sewer.

In my opinion, Paul is right about the debt being too high, and about the fact that Congress is not serious about trying to rein in the deficits. But it's not that simple. Between Social Security, Medicare, Interest, and the military there's not a whole lot to cut. And if we did cut much there, the citizens would scream. Then if you tried to raise taxes enough to cover the deficit, it would be even worse.

We have long passed the moment when we could have done something about it. So, now we just have to see how long we can hold off before it all comes tumbling down. And truly, no one knows how long that will be.

"What makes Trump a conservative in Economics?"

The fact that he's ended Federal funding to multiple unnecessary programs, projects and entities. That he's getting rid of illegals sucking this country dry. That he's gone after NATO members for not paying their fair share, while expecting this country to defend their sorry asses. His actions have resulted in more NATO members finally funding 2% of their GDP for their own defense, something they agreed to in 2014, but never accomplished until he got into office the first time. That he's going after countries who have gotten away with ripping this country off for decades by not paying fair tariffs. That he's stopped sending weapons and billions in taxpayer money to Ukraine for a proxy war. That he's not using taxpayer money to fund his White House renovation. That he didn't waste millions in taxpayer dollars to set up an Embassy in Jerusalem. That he hasn't taken a dime in salary during his terms as President. Need anymore examples? Try doing your own research. You might learn something.

The day Rand Paul lost me, was January 6th, 2021. Days before, he had publicly confirmed that he would not accept Biden’s electors on January 6th. When the Senate finally came back into session that day, instead of sticking to his guns, he instead, listened to the main stream media’s take on what happened that day, repeated it, turned-tail, and voted to accept Biden’s fraudulent electors. I will never forgive him, nor forget it. Senator Marsha Blackburn did the same thing. They are both on my shit list for the rest of my life.

"RAND PAUL is a threat to our economy and our dollar."

By demanding that all ocean-going drug traffickers that we blow up, must have their names known, and they must have due process before any actions can be taken against them is a threat to this country and every American citizen. Same thing with demanding that all illegals in this country get due process before being shipped out. He's a clear and present danger to the security of this country.

How about simply passing a budget? According to a September 2023 piece from the Pew Research Center, “Congress has passed all of its required appropriations measures on time only four times [in] fiscal 1977, 1989, 1995, and 1997.”

Congressional paychecks should be suspended until a budget, a balanced one, has passed.
