Voters in Caerphilly are heading to the polls in a by-election to choose a new member of the Senedd.
Polls are open from 07:00 until 22:00 BST, with the result expected early on Friday morning.
The vote is taking place following the death of Labour's Hefin David, who died suddenly on 12 August aged 47 after being Member of the Senedd for Caerphilly since 2016.
There are eight candidates standing, with all the main parties represented.
The by-election will fill the vacancy until May 2026 when a Wales-wide election will decide the shape of the newly expanded Welsh Parliament.
Unlike Westminster elections, 16 and 17-year-olds can vote in this election and ID is not required at polling stations.
The full list of candidates for the by-election is:
Liberal Democrats: Steve Aicheler
Gwlad: Anthony Cook
Greens: Gareth Hughes
Conservatives: Gareth Potter
Reform: Llyr Powell
UKIP: Roger Quilliam
Labour: Richard Tunnicliffe
Plaid Cymru: Lindsay Whittle

Even so, this will be closely watched. Nigel Farage's Reform party will be looking to score here and they have a good chance if their poll ratings translate into votes (30%+ ).
The nationalist Plaid will be the likely opposition there & you can probably safely forget the rest
I think Labour have won here since 1918 but not likely to win it again considering.
Good luck to Nigel ๐ค
Yeah, my parent knew someone who asked for various chesses in Caerphilly, and all they had was Caerphilly. It is a goat cheese and really good.
The previous Labour member of the Welsh Parliament was found hanged in his home the day before his 48th birthday. It seems like obvious suicide or murder, but they are investigating.
The previous election was between Labour and the Welsh nationalists. Polls for this one show Reform with 42% and Welsh Nationalists with 38%.
Although the Welsh canโt spell, Carrphilly has great cheese and a spectacular castle.
North Minehead by election with Mr Hilter.
