Rand says pay the troops but no reckless budgets

I wonder what the play here is? Rand might be trying to look at winning independents in '28 if he runs for higher office. He's certainly not being a team player!

Just Rand being Rand. He’s noting of the failure of Republicans to make progress on profligate overspending.

He does need to make note of exactly what he would cut and how much, not that it will happen.

He could be used in 28 to split the conservative vote running as an independent to give the election to the Dem. Look at Massie’s suspect campaign donors- Democratic socialists? Wonder if Paul is getting money from these types and possibly Islamists that back his non support for Israel.
For Dem donors, they’re getting their money’s worth from these KY Republican mavericks.

Rand doesn't get it. You need to move on...a, b, c....z to achieve a goal. He wants to go from a to z in one move...can't be done.

Apparently he doesn't care what his constituents want....like...open the damn government...

Rand Paul isn’t grandstanding. But he would communicate better with specifics. For example:

When I entered IT Anderson Consulting (Now Accenture) their bible was “If centralized, decentralize. If decentralized, then centralize.” The HHS swamp has followed this mindless, costly approach. HHs has the biggest budget with the biggest waste through approaches like this.

Currently Mediicaid (and EBT, TANF, WIC, SEC8, etc) has Deloitte IES-Integrated Eligibility System in 25 states. Once enrolled by IES, Gainwell (or similar) then receives and pays claims from hospitals or other providers for services to members.

The swamp direction is to decentralize this. The swamp is pouring billions of taxpayer dollars into consultants to further decentralize this with many contracts to many consulting firms. Most of these consultants are well intentioned but know nothing about welfare programs. Most are either H1b or middle class and do not understand welfare people or welfare programs.

IES has a poorly designed EMPI Enterprise Master Person Index. Welfare programs are very inefficient and the #1 reason is the Deloitte IES. Most of the inefficiency of Gainwell is in trying to handle the mess that Deloitte IES sends to Gainwell.

The solution is for non-Deloitte to take over eligibility and design a proper Master Person Index. But the current de-centralize effort does not see this need, nor lesser needs. The current de-centralize only sees unlimited contract hours doing something with no end in sight.

Please, stop bringing in rational coherent thinking on this! Much much more effective to fall on the floor kick one’s feet blame everyone and threaten to hold one’s breath until one’s face turns blue!

I hope when this all falls apart, the GOOBERS fold and we go right back to spending the way we did before DOGE and Trump, Rand is the happiest idiot on the planet. If we lose the House or Senate in 2026, this whole thing has been wasted.

The so-called GOP deficit is from the extension of Trumps tax cuts passed in 2017. Had they expired, we’d all have seen a pretty significant TAX INCREASE.
Like $3.2 trillion over the next 10 yrs. So figure $320 billion a year for 10 yrs.

Trump’s tariff revenue approaching $300 billion so far, is now making up for the “ loss” of tax revenue that didn’t increase had the Trump 2017 tax program expired and set us back. Of course Rand Paul opposes those tariffs too. As a “ tax increase”

Hello.

What exactly he stands for with his TDS grandstanding….is a mystery.
