Bicycling is such a way of life in Europe, you’d think drivers would automatically be aware of this kind of danger.
Well, upon reading this story, maybe a large number of people can avoid what may become known as the “Perdelwitz Effect”. It’s like running through a doorway not tall enough for your head. It could also be construed as jumping in a swimming pool with no water.
I'd expect bicycle riders to be aware; and, it is their responsibility to protect themselves with equal measure.
Why do they teach drivers to slow down really slow and toot the horn when passing by a stopped delivery truck? This is exactly the same situation, different types of vehicles.
