"There’s even worse to come if temperatures continue to rise. The planet is on the brink of several more tipping points as it’s all but certain to breach the globally agreed goal of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, according to the report."

“'This grim situation must be a wake-up call that unless we act decisively now, we will also lose the Amazon rainforest, the ice sheets and vital ocean currents,” Barrett said. “In that scenario, we would be looking at a truly catastrophic outcome for all humanity.'”

I love that they characterize it as the “first” tipping point. That gives them flexibility to continue to write scare articles about a whole list of subsequent tipping points.

The reef here isn’t cooperating with the climatists. It’s as alive as ever.

Coral reefs first appeared around 485 million years ago during the Early Ordovician period. Most modern reef-building corals have been forming for the last 60 million years. ~ U.S. Geological Survey

Wow. It’s amazing what damage mere mortals have done since the Global Warming Wealth Redistribution scam started!

NASA says: “Global warming began to be significantly influenced by human activities during the Industrial Revolution, around the mid-19th century, particularly from the 1830s onward. The average global temperature has increased by about 1.5 °C (2.5 °F) since then, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels and other human activities.”

Here’s how real science works. An hypothesis is presented. Challenges to that hypothesis are welcomed, even encouraged. Debate is seen as healthy.

Here’s how Climate Change works. Accept the official narrative. No debate is permitted. After all, it’s “settled science”.

A wise old saying:

If it’s science, it’s not settled.
If it’s settled, it’s not science.

Geologist, Professor Ian Plimer, utterly demolishes the human-induced "climate emergency" fairy tale in three and a half minutes...

Very worth the watch.

Uhh, “New reality”? I’ve been hearing this crap for 30 years or more. What’s new about it? What’s real about it? The reality is we are still here, N.Y. City is not underwater, the beaches are still there and the polar bears are thriving. Can the hysterics, have a beer.

Wake me up when the climate stabilizes and never changes again. Then I’ll worry.

“ The planet is grappling with a “new reality” as it reaches the first in a series of catastrophic and potentially irreversible climate tipping points”

Ridiculous.

Modern corals first appeared in the Cretaceous Period. That was one of the warmest times on earth. There were no polar ice caps and shallow seas covered most of the western US and Canada. I think they will be just fine.

It's a crisis all right.

But like any crisis, it can be fixed by a boot stamping on a human face forever.

Right?
