From Delhi Public School to T-Mobile CEO: Srini Gopalan joins elite club of India-born US CEOs

T-Mobile, the US telecom giant, announced on Monday that it has appointed its current Chief Operating Officer, India-born Srini Gopalan, as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective November 1, 2025.

With this elevation, Gopalan joins the distinguished club of India-born CEOs heading some of the world’s most influential companies in the US, a group that includes Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Sundar Pichai of Alphabet and Google, Vimal Kapur of Honeywell, Raj Subramaniam of FedEx, Arvind Krishna of IBM, and Shantanu Narayen of Adobe.

No question that India has produced some brilliant USA technology CEOs and entrepreneurs.

However - we can recruit those guys directly in India.

We do NOT need to recruit 300,000 completely average H1B and OPT Asian Indians - EVERY YEAR - to find the 1% with elite tech and leadership talent.

Please keep in mind that Asian Indian American citizens mostly live in major USA cities and vote 70%-80% Democrat!

These are the "productivity" of marcusmaximus as of the time captured. Seven posts with more or less the same theme, and only for today. They may be validated by looking at his FR history, as we each have one which may be examined.

As to the topic of the thread, and given our Vice President's wife is of Indian background, here's a excerpt from an article, properly sourced.

So many pictures are not black or white, though some would have us think so. My grandparents all were Scandinavian, although "marcus" has toyed with calling me by faux-Indian and faux-Russian names, as is his level of discussion.

On one of "his" threads this day, I commented:

In inverse of that would be -- 99.75 % of all nonfarm jobs have nothing at all to do with the whole thing. But headlines can sure whip up the crowds.

Whipping up the crowds. That is why I listed marcus' day's work, to the time as detailed. Conservatives can disagree, unlike lockstep Democrats and the Left worldwide, and these problems President Trump is facing with us in mind are complex, not simple black-versus-white, which was a kid comic so long ago. I have no problem with this administration dealing with the complexities of the whole visa system. I would see a temporary shutting down of the while thing, while corrections are made. President Trump and Vice President still get my vote in this difficult time. But I hesitate to call anything "stealing" when the rules of the American system are followed.

I have had the opposite experience, for having been contracted in some European countries "over" a local, in my time. Did I "steal" a German's or a Brit's possible contract? One can say so. I would say I competed and earned that contract. It is a matter of perspectives in a complex world, after all.
