That was one seriously disturbing movie.
RIP. I thought she did her best work in several old Woody Allen flicks - SLEEPER, LOVE AND DEATH. I thought she was miscast in The Godfather(s)
Gulp. 77 for me this month.
Can’t you just hear Al Pacino when he heard she died?
And his godfather voice
“Oh, no!”
I agree it’s not a tragedy and it’s not a loss.
It’s not like she was gonna be in more movies.
I feel sorry for her family. They’re the ones that will feel the loss.
Baby boom was fun.
Rebels are we
Born to be free
Just like the fish in the sea!
And of course, The Orgasmatron.
RIP to the original Karen.
+1 Reds - hugely underrated film as well as her & Beatty’s acting skills.
She seemed timeless to me. And authentic.
My favorite of her movies was “Baby Boom”, and she had my favorite movie line in it: “I USED TO BE CUTE!!” (I identified - LOL!)
I looked it up. The movie was called Heaven from 1987. Very mixed reviews. 6.8 rating on IMDB tagline The Ultimate Coming Attraction. Might be worth a look. I don’t know. Certainly apt now that her soul is experiencing the afterlife. She directed it and wasn’t in front of the camera as far as I can see. Also saw she did some other stuff like directing videos for Belinda Carlisle. She seems to have been a varied artist.
Another bit of trivia....She was born Diane Hall but took her mothers maiden name which was Keaton.
She acted with Woody in his play “Play it Again Sam” on Broadway in 1969. The accusation against Woody was blatantly false.
Michael started seeing her when he was trying to get away from everything his family stood for.
+1 Babny Boom
As a MBA & former officer in $400M corp, I exited the rat race to become an entrepreneur of very high-end niche audio electronics w/partners in Europe, Japan, SKorea, HongKong...although I “work” more hours as an entrepreneur.
I even spent time on the Pro side of Music industry providing technical assistance in the remastering of classic albums and received credit on those albums.
So BabyBoom strikes close to the heart for me.
That line is from Bananas!
And from SLEEPER! Allen repeated it.
“Time is on my side”softly playing in the background.
So strange. Myself and the wife just watched this morning the movie “Love the Coopers” with Keaton, John Goodman, and Alan Arkin amongst others. Zero idea like all others she may have been ill. RIP
I must have missed that detail in the movie but I still don't buy Kay (RIP) as Michael's wife.
To me, she was simply wrong for the role. She was not credible to me and took away from the entire movie.
Plenty of other WASP actresses in that era who could have filled the role better IMO.
