A Florida couple was arrested last week after police said they abandoned their 16-year-old son on the side of the road with a bag full of guns.
The parents, Bradley Leon Guerrero Santos, 36, and Rosanella Mendiola Borja, 35, are facing child neglect charges.
Police in North Port, a city near Sarasota, received a 911 call on the evening of October 1 about 'a suspicious male' who was walking south on the northbound side on Interstate-75, according to a probable cause affidavit.
An officer approached the boy, who reluctantly identified himself as the child of Santos and Borja.
He said that when he got home from school that day, his parents told him they were taking a trip.
After he walked the family dog, he saw them 'frantically throwing clothes into two duffel bags' before rushing the him and his eight-year-old sibling into the car, the affidavit said.
Once the teenager was told that their destination was 'either Guam or Idaho', he said he didn't want to go, police said.
That's allegedly when Santos and Borja kicked him out of the car, leaving him with two semiautomatic pistols in a bag and some cash. He was also told to 'take care of the house', police said.

Eventually you'd want a lawyer too.
1) There was a time in this country where that wouldn’t have been thought unusual.
2) Did they leave him a lighter, chocolate, and a first aid kit?
No, they loved me. They were always giving me gifts.
Usually it was radios or toasters while I was bathing.
(running finger under collar)
I was left alone to take care of the the farm at that age.
:-)
Sounds like something I would do.
Great song lyrics
