An Indian man living in the United States has gone viral for his candid take on the new H1B visa rule and how it pushed him to rethink his definition of “home” and “success.”
In a video shared on Instagram, the man said, “I actually think this new H1B visa rule is an amazing thing for people like me.” He explained that he decided to move back to India about a year ago and was grappling with doubts about his decision, until the recent change in visa policy gave him “clarity.”
“About a year ago, I made the decision to move back to India and I was having a lot of questions and doubts about my decision as one does. And this new H1B visa rule just gave a lot of clarity. Like why am I running behind a country which is trying so hard to kick me out of here?” he said.
Acknowledging his own past pursuit of the “American dream,” the man said, “Now before you call me a hypocrite, I haven’t been to India in 8 years. I chased the same American dream like everyone else and that is why I can say this - because for years, people like me have treated the US as the ultimate achievement. We work twice as hard for half the recognition, we swallow our accent and change our names for what? As if our degrees, careers, our entire self-worth depended on this little visa stamp in our passports.”

He won’t answer the question,I genuinely want to know if he is trolling or in earnest.
For the 5th tome, dp you support h- 1b and unrestricted legal inmmigration?
Posting articles is usually not trolling
“we swallow our accent and change our names for what?”
LOL! No, you don’t.
Don’t even get me started about an hour of my life wasted this morning dealing with Customer Service at Choice Hotels (Quality Inn). EVERY rep was Indian, and I truly believe they’re trained to actively create an adversarial relationship with potential guests. Nasty pieces of work. Plus you can’t understand a word they’re saying.
M and k have a fued going from the Ukraine threads. I could care less about either Nation, and the reason I talk about Israel is because it keeps coming up. The loosertarians have tried to take over here.
Excellent post. Especially:
“what were his credentials to just drop in and slurp up the bennies?”
I hope you know the H-1B visa is about high end white collar mostly 6 figure STEM jobs . This has nothing to do with ghetto phone support.
What about Peggy?
They take American names when they work phone support from India. Try talking to “Bob” with a thick Indian accent over the phone.
I don’t care. He is hitting it right with H-1B posts. If Satan was posting these I’d thank him too.
LOL...nope, no Peggy, Sue, Kathy, Darlene...not even a Karen.
“They take American names when they work phone support from India.”
Yes, how could I forget that?! That always cracks me up to get “Bob” with his thick accent. The companies REALLY believe they are fooling anybody?
“I hope you know the H-1B visa is about high end white collar mostly 6 figure STEM jobs .”
I do know that. I do know that the ones I was dealing with aren’t even IN this country. The thread was a trigger considering my experience this morning that was so upsetting I couldn’t even eat lunch.
But the H-1B issue does bring to attention the Indian ownership and management of corporations in the US, including the hospitality industry. They hire Indian on-site staff, Indian I.T. personnel, etc., who bring friends and family so all of THEM can experience the American Dream.
And then they get here and we realize the only part of the American Dream they want is money. Not the American culture or flag. There’s no respect for American history. They have no skin in the game.
They need to go away like this guy did.
Why aren’t they all going to china?
Answer the h-1b question.
You can place your illiterate questions up your posterior, cowgirlusa.
Gotcha, you ate a globalist. Great to know.
Whatever the demon in your head tells you
