In WWI Russia was not communist.

In WWII Russia began as an ally with Germany. We were not on Russia’s side. We were against Germany,

Relevance? In WW I the US came into the war against Germany. Which did nothing but help Russia.

WW II ... We were not on Russia’s side.

FDR's administration was very much on Stalin's side. Do I really need to review how much stuff we sent to Stalin? Stalin later said it was crucial to Stalin not being defeated.

Tehran Conference in December 1943, Stalin: “The United States … is a country of machines. Without the use of those machines through Lend-Lease, we would lose this war.”

What is it with the Hitler fixation I see everywhere? Stalin was a far bigger monster. It is to the everlasting shame of the US we helped him survive.

A smarter policy would have been to play the two monsters off against each other so that they both lost.

Check your history. The United States did not enter WWII in Europe until Germany declared war on the U.S. on December 11, 1941. Russia had been fighting the Germans since June 22, 1941. The U.S. and Russia were on the same side the entire time the U.S. was in the war.
