Relevance? In WW I the US came into the war against Germany. Which did nothing but help Russia.

Exactly, America has this strange connection to Britain. They were the Israel of the 20th century. Every move they made was backed by US weapons and money. We should have let them be in WW 1, and WW 2 would have never happened.
America has been the hammer for the rest of the world for 100+ years. To the benefit of other countries, war industrialists, and very little for US Citizens.
