The most recent slate of games across the NCAA was littered with some incredible football. From four top-10 teams taking L's to Oregon quarterback Dante Moore cementing his spot in the Heisman Trophy race, it's hard—and incredibly sad—to fathom that we're already through the month of September.

The most competitive game for the Noon ET kickoffs is Cincinnati hosting Iowa State. The talk about Matt Campbell moving on to a big-time job like USC has died down the past few years but he is one of the best coaches in college football. Cincinnati is a 1.5-point favorite.
The Vandy pimp will be strutting into Tuscaloosa at 3:30 ET. I cannot believe this is a top 20 match up. We shall see if the Dores can put up another 40+ points on Bama. Bama's defense under DeBoer has struggled containing running QBs like Diego Pavia. Vegas has the Tide a 10.5 point favorite. Despite last year's high scoring game the over/under is 55.
In a battle of two overhyped, and underperforming QBs we have Arch Manning visiting the Swamp and DJ Lagway. Whatever one can say about the Gators, their defense has been tough keeping them in games. Sunbelt Billy is strapped into the electric chair and a lost most likely will throw the switch. Florida is a 4.5-point home dog.
One of the best rivalries during the 80s/90s kicks off at 7:30 with THE U visiting the Doak. Cannot remember the last time this game has been this important. Miami might have the best lines in college football. The Seminoles are coming off a road loss at Charlottesville. Miami will need a disciplined pass rush to keep Thomas Castellanos in the pocket.
After Vandy beat Bama last year, Vandy doesn’t have the benefit of being overlooked by Bama this year. I predict some weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Yay! We have a bye week. At least we won’t lose ....... again.
Did you know that Reuters has reported a drop in alcohol consumtion? We Auburn folks were excluded from the study.
Since Bama’s game is against Vandy and not Iraq, I’m cheering for Vandy! Go Doctors and other smart people!
I’m not a big Miami fan, but I will root for them tomorrow against the Criminoles.
Wish they both could lose.
Miami (FL) is playing Florida State, however...
My brother is a Miami Redskin alumni, and I have to stand up for an Ohio school.
The University of Oregon has the most Over-ranked sports program in the history of sports anywhere in the world.
The media has to make NIKE happy due to the Nike advertising dollar, hence the glorification of the University of Oregon. Phil Knight, the child slave labor king, gets treated like an “owner” of a sports franchise.
What have the Quacks ever won?
“Wish they both could lose.”
I second that opinion. But if I had to choose one, it would be state.
The U of Nike always seemed to choke in the big games. Not unlike Penn State under Franklin.
The NCAA has pretty much made college football the NFL Jr. if you will. For instance east coast crap schools were folded in (TV market) and now the west coast schools, puke. The TV revenue sharing, portholes, players paid and many other payoffs rue the day. YUCK.
Even though Michigan reigns atop all of college football of most wins, winning percentage blah blah it is not the fun it used to be covering decades, JMO.
I agree. Last year’s Vanderbilt-Alabama game was a “trap” game. For Alabama. I don’t see them making the same mistake twice. After seeing Deboer turn the team around after losing to Florida State, I’m confident they can handle Vanderbilt. The Georgia game last week was all the proof I needed. Vanderbilt won’t be easy, but Bama is up to the task.
I think Diego Pavia is the second-coming of Johnny Football.
I think eventually we’ll see what happened with soccer in England, the big teams will leave and form their own league, rather than share the revenues with the smaller schools, I expect Michigan and Ohio State to lead the breakaway.
Johnny Football is mentoring Pavia. In this case, Johnny is using my his life as an example of what not to do off the field.
What is Miami OH ranked?
They aren’t ranked, but they predate the Florida school by over 100 years, and as I said, my brother went there.
My wife went to Ohio (well, online), so i was rooting for the Bobcats against Ohio State a few weeks ago.
My school was a tiny Division III OAC school.
College football is as much about passion as it is about the rankings, so Go Redskins! (never, gag, Redhawks...)
I have a family stake in OSU so Go HickoryNuts
Me, too. I’d settle for a tie, but they don’t do that in college football.
Marking.
