I've noticed a lot of double and even triple posts in the last few days.
I'm wondering if there is an issue with Free Republic.
Thoughts?

My connection to FR has been slow for a few days (and I have 1g connection).

Double clicking the Post button always creates a double post. If someone has lag as well, it may get clicked even more.
That's nothing. Some years back Laz machine-gunned 128 posts in a row, about 5 per second for 23 seconds. As far as I know he still holds the all-time record:

Actually, just look at the address window and watch the fill line snaking across. When it's all the way across, you have posted. Doesn't matter how many sheep you counted while waiting.
FR has been much slower in posting comments. Double/multiple posts are likely because people are hitting the “post” button more than once while the page is still loading the first time they hit it.
Open reply window in a new tab. If it seems to be taking a long time to resolve then go back to the other tab, refresh it and see if your comment posted on the thread. If so then close the reply window tab.
There does seem to be a bit of a delay when you hit “Post”
