Thousands of young Indians have mapped their adult lives with the aim of moving to the US, plans that now lie in tatters.
Meghna Gupta* had planned it all – a master’s degree by 23, a few years of working in India, and then a move to the United States before she turned 30 to eventually settle there.
So, she clocked countless hours at the Hyderabad office of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT firm and a driver of the country’s emergence as the global outsourcing powerhouse in the sector. She waited to get to the promotion that would mean a stint on California’s West Coast.
Now, Gupta is 29, and her dreams lie in tatters after US President Donald Trump’s administration upended the H-1B visa programme that tech firms have used for more than three decades to bring skilled workers to the US.

Posh exclusive Texas homes advertised for Indians only.
Another way the parasites thwart US law.
Building a residential development that exclusively sells or rents to people of a specific ethnicity is illegal in the U.S. under the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA).

“in todays world, if you are not worth $100K to bring in, you are not the kind of talent that the H1B program was put in place to fill critical US tech positions that even top tier Americans cannot fill”
And that says it all!
Even back in the day, a huge part of the H1B employment contract package that Silicone Valley tech execs offered to standout Stanford and MIT foreign PhD grads was paying about $50K in H1B and US immigration lawyer legal fees to get all the approvals to get them a green card, permanent residency status and a path to citizenship
The H1B system has mutated into a highly negative and destructive program and President Trump is doing an amazing job at effectively reforming the system in a practical, easy to implement fashion
Modi’s problem, not ours.
