Joby Aviation, a company developing air taxis for commercial passenger service, announced it will be at the California International Airshow in Salinas in October.
On Oct. 4 and 5, attendees will be able to step inside the Joby aircraft, see the cabin, and meet the design team behind its design.
“Bringing our aircraft to Salinas feels like a homecoming. We’re honored to share a front-row seat to the future of flight with our neighbors, just miles from where Joby was founded," said JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby.
Last month, the company completed its first flight between the airports in Marina and Monterey, demonstrating operations in Federal Aviation Administration-controlled airspace.
Joby also recently hosted Girls in Aviation Day at the Marina Municipal Airport and took part in Douglas Day at the Santa Monica Airport.
The company also announced it will prepare for specific flight tests in early 2026.

I passed on a job offer there. Joeben is a great guy but for a person like me moving to Santa Cruz (up in the hills) would be a death sentence...

I don’t quite understand. Santa Cruz is on the ocean. Even up in the hills you’re going to get a salty breeze and fog. But when the fog burns off in the morning—its a beautiful day.
Sure, most of the neighbors will be really low brow cultural libs, but jeeze louise, what a lovely area Santa Cruz is if you can afford it.
I don’t to pee on anybody’s dreams. However
due to Democrat leftist nut cases we can barely
generate enough electricity for our present needs!
You want to add the additional loads of
possibly millions of electric vehicles?
Y’all are idiots.
Technology and INFRASTRUCTURE just isn’t
there yet. Keep working but less “Gaslighting”
please!
The crazies. I use to live in Moss Landing and was stationed in Monterey. With my curmudgeon ways now They would feed me to the sharks.
Plus the cost of living. WHEW.
That’s the thing I don’t understand about monterey and even more —santa cruz. How do people afford to live there.
Is it the tourist trade that sustains them like in much of hawaii where every house is now a hotel?
Did they ever host a Boys in Aviation Day?
