Missing 17-year-old from Marion County found safe; no abduction occurred

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Marion County Sheriff’s deputies located Caden Speight, 17, of Dunnellon, on Friday afternoon in Williston following an overnight search and Amber Alert. Officials say initial claims about a Caden being shot and abducted were unfounded.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies no longer believe Caden Speight, 17, of Dunnellon, was taken by four Hispanic men as originally reported in an Amber Alert on Thursday night. His disappearance was connected to a shooting in Dunnellon; however, the teen wasn’t wounded.

Authorities say they have new evidence that contradicts previously reported facts. Now, deputies say Caden may have left the scene of a shooting on Highway 484 on a black bicycle with a tent.

Caden was seen purchasing the bicycle and tent at the Walmart on Southwest 19th Avenue Road in Ocala just before the shooting reportedly occurred.

Glad that he was found safe and all, but to those of us who live in this area (Dunnellon Airport to U.S. 41), a shooting on 484 is equivalent to a host of alien ships landing here...

Why would a kid from Dunnellon drive past the Dunnellon Walmart (and also the Walmart at 484 and 200) to go to the one on SW 19th in Ocala ?

I would never set foot in the Walmart on SW 19th. It's a third world country there.
