Just a heads up Freepers I heard X money is coming to the X platform soon backed by VISA and licensed in nearly every U.S. state it will allow for instant money transfers from debit or credit cards and such.
It could be a big deal and it's not easy to do this. I dont know how Elon Musk plans to integrate it but I'm sure he has plans.
Maybe FR will take it?
It sounds to me like it will be similar to PayPal. Musk was one of the original founders/backers of PayPal...
He did create PayPal.
Seems like a long time ago now
Those invisible electrons on a screen are multiplying, the intangible E money landscape is becoming very, very crowded….getting time to thin out the “ herd”.
It’s very difficult to pull off as you need licensing in every state. Musk has spent the last few years doing this
It’s quite a big deal I think as you dont see it often and always good to see competition emerge
It’s the leading candidate for the “Super App” thatPaul Atkins talks about. Coinbase, Robinhood etc. also
What a waste. Now, I incidentally use it with credit cards, like with Free Republic, on occasion, as the processor, but with no PayPal account.
I won't go back to it, either.
I will strongly consider a new option. Currently, I use Zelle to do a limited amount of what I previously did with PayPal.
Yessss...
And I’m thinking Musk will have it integrated into X. Jim and FR could take donations all day long on X/Twitter
New people and new donors exposed to the message!
This is big..
the Feds have a new system that can already do this:
The primary new federal system for money transfer is the FedNow Service, a 24/7 instant payment infrastructure developed by the Federal Reserve that allows banks and credit unions to facilitate real-time, immediate funds transfers for consumers and businesses. Separately, a new government-wide initiative is shifting all federal payments, such as benefits and tax refunds, away from paper checks to electronic methods by September 30, 2025.
“Just a heads up Freepers I heard X money is coming to the X platform”
Coming?
He might have to call it something else unless they can do some deal with that company 🤔
The question is will this be adapted by retailers and will the retailer charge a surcharge for using it. The trend now for many restaurants is to go to cash and charge +4% if you use a card.
Yeah!
Why not embrace combining social media and financial transactions into a single app, like an American WeChat, with social credit scores and everything?
I couldn’t see that going horribly wrong and being used by the Administrative State to allow for better control of people, not ever.
Look for an “X” token. Elon is pretty deep into crypto. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them incorporate some version. XRP is already used by a lot of banking networks.
The VISA network is an expensive option. But, it is universal…so it wouldn’t shock me to see some integration.
Money transfers are HUGE business. Much larger than most people realize. Having a network that cuts out banks and which would be immune to “defunding” would be a huge world wide win.
This is the type of BIG thinking that has made Musk billions.
Yeah!

Stopped reading at “Visa.” If RLUSD gets a card system working, their business model is dead.
“He might have to call it something else unless they can do some deal with that company”
That IS his company!
Are you sure?
Oh yes there will be some crypto tie-in. I’m sure about that
Not crazy about using debit for things like that. My debit has been hacked twice, lost almost $1000 before bank noticed the suspicious activity. Luckily they investigsted and rei bursed me the money. (Found out that it was likely due to gas pump skimmers- so now i dont use it at gas stations.)
