Only to be sacked by his co founders including Peter Thiel when he went to Australia for the Olympics.
They waited for him to be out of town before kicking him out.
However, he and Peter Thiel made up long ago.

Not really. He had a failed attempt at a company that PayPal bought. No major player in their success at all.
